Commitment
JEPECH follows the Core Practices and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). This statement sets out the responsibilities of everyone involved in publishing in the journal: authors, editors, reviewers and the publisher, Sigma Horizons s.r.o..
Duties of authors
- Originality: submitted work must be the authors' own, must not have been published elsewhere and must not be under consideration by another journal. Earlier versions (e.g. conference papers, theses, preprints) must be disclosed at submission.
- Plagiarism: all use of the words, data or ideas of others, including the authors' own earlier publications, must be acknowledged and cited. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
- Authorship: all listed authors must have made a substantial contribution to the research and the manuscript, approved the final version and agreed to its submission. Other contributors should be acknowledged.
- Sources and data: authors must report their research accurately, cite the sources they rely on, and be prepared to provide the underlying data or archival references on reasonable request.
- Research ethics: research involving human participants (e.g. surveys or interviews) must comply with applicable ethical standards and, where required, be approved by an ethics committee, with informed consent obtained.
- Conflicts of interest and funding: authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could be seen to influence the work, and all sources of funding.
- Use of generative AI: AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Any use of generative AI in preparing the manuscript beyond basic language editing must be disclosed; authors remain fully responsible for the content.
- Errors: authors who discover a significant error in their submitted or published work must promptly notify the editors and cooperate in correcting it.
Duties of editors
- Evaluate manuscripts on scholarly merit only, without discrimination of any kind.
- Keep submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities confidential.
- Not use unpublished material from a submitted manuscript for their own research without the authors' written consent.
- Declare and manage conflicts of interest by recusing themselves where necessary.
- Investigate complaints and suspected misconduct fairly and in line with COPE guidance.
Duties of reviewers
- Assess manuscripts objectively and support their comments with arguments and references.
- Treat manuscripts as confidential and not upload them to generative AI tools or share them.
- Decline the review in case of a conflict of interest or insufficient expertise.
- Alert the editor to substantial similarity with other published work or suspected ethical problems.
- Complete reviews within the agreed time or inform the editor promptly.
Duties of the publisher
The publisher ensures the editorial independence of the journal, maintains the permanent availability of the published record, and supports the editors in handling ethical issues, corrections and retractions.
Corrections, retractions and expressions of concern
Minor errors that do not affect the conclusions are corrected by publishing a correction notice linked to the article. Articles affected by serious errors, plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, or unethical research are retracted following the COPE retraction guidelines; the retracted article remains available and is clearly marked as retracted, together with the reason. Where an investigation is ongoing, the editors may publish an expression of concern.
Complaints and allegations of misconduct
Complaints about the journal's processes, or allegations of misconduct concerning submitted or published work, should be sent to kakriba@aol.fr with supporting evidence. They are handled confidentially, the persons concerned are given the opportunity to respond, and the complainant is informed of the outcome. Complaints about the publisher may be addressed to a@sigma-horizon.xyz.
